New Sydney Qantas International Business Class Lounge Reviews

This week we are rolling out our next set of lounge reviews at Sydney International Airport. This week we tackle the less glamorous cousin of the Qantas first class lounge, the Qantas International Business Class lounge. While this lounge is nice enough, there are some notably differences. The
Qantas First Class lounge is truly aspirational. However, according to our new Sydney Qantas International Business Class lounge reviews, the business class lounge is just a bit above average. The one notable exception, however, is the delicious gelato station. Read on to learn more – or click here to jump to the full page.

As a reminder, Premium Travel Insider aggregates reviews from around the web and scores them on a 1-3 scale. A 3 indicates that a given category exceeded reviewer expectations, a 2 indicates it met expectations, and a 1 failed to meet expectations. You can learn more about our methodology here.

The Top Line

The Sydney International Business Class Lounge rates a bit above average. With 7 reviews from 7 different sites, it scored 2.14/3 overall, making it good enough, but not particularly exciting. Notable amenities of the lounge include:

  • Barista made coffee
  • Hot and cold food buffet options
  • Self service alcohol
  • Showers
  • A gelato station (a unique feature!)

Our level of detail was a 2.00/3, meaning we have moderate confidence in these reviews.

What’s Great

The most notable feature of the lounge is the gelato station, which features a number of rotating flavors. Beyond that, there was general praise for the drink selection, which included a number of alcoholic and soft drinks that were quite good for a business class lounge. The food options were also generally considered pretty good, with several hot and cold options. Bathrooms and WiFi also rated well.

What’s Not

One of the biggest complaints about the lounge is how insanely crowded it gets. Of our seven reviews, four rated their experience as “busy,” and two as “crowded.” One did not report the level of activity. This in turn weighed down the seating score as many reviewers noted seating was acceptable, but hard to find.

What’s Unknown

Our New Sydney Qantas International Business Class Lounge Reviews were fairly robust, and no categories were unknown.

Is the Sydney Qantas International Business Class Lounge Worth a Stop?

Based on our New Sydney Qantas International Business Class Lounge Reviews, this lounge is worth stopping into, but not worth going out of your way for. If you can find a time where the lounge isn’t crowded, then you’ll have a pleasant enough time. While individual categories – such as food, drink, and WiFi were high, the level of crowding drove down the overall experience to just “average.” Manage your expectations before visiting.
