Premium Travel Insider has added our newest business class airline: China Southern. With a hub out of Guangzhou, China, China Southern Airlines offers three-class service from much of the world to this industrial-focused city. Read on to learn more about our new China Southern business class reviews and what you can expect.
As a reminder, Premium Travel Insider aggregates reviews from around the web and scores them on a 1-3 scale. A 3 indicates that a given category exceeded reviewer expectations, a 2 indicates it met expectations, and a 1 failed to meet expectations. We evaluate a variety of categories, the most important of which we call the “Big 5” that are most important to a premium travel experience: seat, food, drink, service, and in flight entertainment. You can learn more about our methodology here.
The Top Line
China Southern business class scored a 2.36/3, which is an overall strong rating. The “Big 5” rating scored 2.31/3, which was closely correlated with the overall experience. Our initial China Southern reviews include seven reviews from seven different sites. However, an important disclaimer: with a low level-of-detail rating of 1.86/3, and comparatively few reviews available, we have lower than normal confidence in these scores.
What’s Great
The seat on China Airlines business class is rated quite high – with a 2.57/3 rating. The IFE also was rated quite high, driven by good selection and hardware, at 2.60/3. With a great seat and great entertainment, you’re in pretty good shape for a long-haul flight.
What’s Not
Lavatories scored in the below-average range of 1.67/3, driven largely by a lack of cleanliness during flights. WiFi was also to be avoided as it was quite slow, and scored a 1.00/3. The lavatory presents the more concerning issue.
Is China Southern worth flying?
Based on our new China Southern business class reviews, this airline offers a good product. With great seats and generally solid overall ratings – excepting the poor lavatories – you can do far worse in the sky. However, as previously noted, we have relatively few reviews to go by, and some of the reviews were low in detail.
