Expanded Qatar Airways Business Class Reviews

We’re keeping February going strong with new reviews, expanding our aggregation with another Goliath in the business class world – Qatar Airways. We thought Singapore Airlines was a monster, but Qatar has taken the cake, with bloggers and reviewers rushing to review the QSuite product. Qatar is considered the best in the world – something our aggregated reviews back it up – so it’s no wonder we have 18 reviews from 14 different sites. However, important to note is the vast majority of these reviews are for the QSuite product, which is not available on all routes. Read on to see what’s new and what’s changed with our expanded Qatar Airways business class reviews, or just click here to skip to the main Qatar Airways page.

As a reminder, Premium Travel Insider aggregates reviews from around the web and scores them on a 1-3 scale. A 3 indicates that a given category exceeded reviewer expectations, a 2 indicates it met expectations, and a 1 failed to meet expectations. We evaluate a variety of categories, the most important of which we call the “Big 5” that are most important to a premium travel experience: seat, food, drink, service, and in flight entertainment. You can learn more about our methodology here.

Expanded Qatar Airways Business Class Reviews Top Line

Qatar Airways scored a stunning 2.92/3 overall, with a 2.79/3 “Big 5” score. These scores are reasonably correlated, and put Qatar Air Ways as the top dog for flights. With an overall level of detail of 2.28/3 and 18 reviews, we have high confidence in the consistency and quality of these reviews.

What Changed the Most?

WiFi1.40/30/3+1.40
Amenity Kit2.46/32.00/3 +.46
Bedding2.64/3 2.25/3 +.41
Service2.75/3 2.50/3 +.25
Food2.67/32.80/3-.13
Drink2.77/33/3-.23

Adding new reviews boosted the vast majority of categories, but not everything. The largest boost was to WiFi, driven by the fact that older 777’s in Qatar’s fleet, whcih were our only previous reviews, do not have WiFi. However, the new A350’s do, and the WiFi generally is fairly good, leading to a boost in ratings.

Amenity kit and bedding both received boosts, as Qatar’s new amenity kit products are quite nice and high quality. The bedding provided with the QSuite product is praised, including a mattress topper, multiple pillows, and a great duvet. The addition of many QSuite reviews validated this boost. Finally, service was also boosted, as the majority of reviewers and bloggers had excelletn experiences.

Food and drink both dropped, although not precipitously. Several reviewers cited some “misses” in catering, but these usually were limited to certain meals and not the entire service. For example, some bloggers had stale bread, and others had poor main dishes. These incidents were uncommon, however. Drink rating dropped as several bloggers noted the champagne provided in the service is oddly plain considering how high end every other aspect of the QSuite experience is. Even with these drops, both the food and drink rate in the “great’ category.

What (Mostly) Didn’t Change?

Several categories remained consistent. These included the seat, remaining at a stellar 2.88/3. The IFE remained praised, which crept up a bit and landed at 2.86/3, because of both great screens and content selection. The lavatory remained a fairly average 2.10/3. In general the lavs were acceptable, but some flights reported a lack of cleaning.

Is Qatar Airways Business Class Worth Flying?

Based on our expanded Qatar Airways Business Class reviews, we can state that the Qatar QSuite experience is a superb product. It is important to note that the Qsuite is not on every flight, and that beyond the seat, the QSuite also comes with special catering and bedding. You should be sure to check what plane you are flying, but if you’ve got a QSuite, you’re probably in for an epic ride, particularly for a business class product.
