August 2019 Expanded Business Class Reviews

We are excited to add an additional 24 new reviews to Premium Travel Insider with the August 2019 expanded Business Class reviews!  These reviews include one all new Airline – Virgin Atlantic, as well as 6 additional reviews added to both Air France and ANA Business Class.  This brings our total business class reviews to a full gross – 144!  Here are some interesting details about the revised reviews.

As a reminder, Premium Travel Insider aggregates reviews from around the web and scores them on a 1-3 scale. A 3 indicates that a given category exceeded reviewer expectations, a 2 indicates it met expectations, and a 1 failed to meet expectations. We evaluate a variety of categories, the most important of which we call the “Big 5” that are most important to a premium travel experience: seat, food, drink, service, and in flight entertainment. Virgin Atlantic is a cheeky airline that is well known for their hip vibe and great service.  Although Premium Travel Insider does not score lounges at this time, the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at London Heathrow is considered one of the best business class lounges in the world, with great food, drinks, a spa, pool tables and more.  Reviewers raved about the experience.  For in flight, reviewers were generally positive, citing excellent service and an overall good experience.  However, the vast majority of their hard products are 1-1-1 herringbone seats (and a dreadful 1-2-1 on the A330) which require the seat to be flipped for sleeping mode.  Yikes!

Air France

Air France retained its excellent reputation.  Even with the expanded sample sizes, the food and service remain some of the best in the skies.  The drink program, IFE, and seat are all also good.  Some minor complaints were noted about the lavatories (notably that they were basic, but not dirty) and bedding.  The WiFi reviews were truly dreadful in most cases, so business travelers should check before flying on both availability and quality.  Still, a trip on Air France is bound to be a delightful experience for most!

ANA saw the biggest movement as the reviews went from five to eleven, improving in nearly every category.  The airline now boasts a score no lower than 2.17/3.00, with the majority of food, service and drink reviews being stellar.  Although the seat hard product could be considered a tad dated, reviewers found little to complain about and a lot to enjoy.
